Role Introduction
ROLE PURPOSE The Provisioning Officer oversees the bank’s credit loss provisioning process and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the bank’s provision models, analyzing credit risk data, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Moreover, they will collaborate with various departments, ensuring timely provisioning, and provide essential insights for management reporting, regulatory compliance, future forecasting, and scenarios analysis.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Develop, update, and optimize credit loss provisioning models in alignment with accounting standards, such as IFRS 9 or ECL.  Conduct in-dept analysis of factors influencing monthly provision movements and initiate necessary adjustments.  Manage the end-to-end credit loss provisioning process, including data collection, validation, and reporting.  Perform thorough sanity checks on provision figures and execute manual adjustments when required to rectify anomalies.  Understand the intricacies of bank products and incorporate new products/models into the provision calculation process.  Collaborate with the Branch Network and Business Units to obtain updated valuation data, ensuring accuracy in the shortfall for provision calculation.  Support the Financial Control team in booking provisions accurately and promptly into the Core

Requirements
Banking System.  Provide provision figures to Senior Management and Stakeholders for internal management reporting, regulatory reporting, analysis, forecasting, and ad-hoc requests.  Regularly review the provisioning process to identify gaps and explore opportunities for automation and process optimization.  Knowledge & Skills  Understanding of accounting principles and banking operations  Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel  Strong analytical skills and comfort with working numerical data  Strong work ethic, commitment to accuracy, and attention to detail  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written  High level of professionalism and adaptability  Willingness to learn and grow within the role Preferred  Knowledge on IFRS 9 and Expect Credit Loss model  Knowledge in statistical and data analysis tools and software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) Education & Special Training  Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mathematics, accounting, banking and finance, or a related field.Experience  A minimum of (2) years of experience in banking or financial institutions, or relevant experience in accounting and provisioning.Languages  Proficiency in both written and spoken Burmese and English languages for effective communication .• Ferry Provided • Mobile Phone Allowance • Life Insurance • Limited Medical Cover
